I will have copies onsite, and am trying to get an electronic version to email out in advance.
People handing the food (especially meat and any exposed produce) will need to wear gloves and use proper hand washing techniqueĮveryone will need to read a civil rights training flyer and sign a form that they have reviewed it. People approaching the cars will need to wear masks (unless the mandate is lifted by then) There are a few things that have to happen during the event. We will go through all of this at the volunteer meeting at 8:30 on event day, but it is good for people to hear repetition. I just ask that I get a copy of it either through tagging in Facebook or text it to me at 21. We encourage photo and video to be taken during the outreach. But when things slow down or are just building, there can be confusion. Usually when the line is already formed and long, it is easy for them to tell.
#STORE HOUSE DALLAS MOM HOW TO#
There always tends to be someone who wants to come in the exit or doesn’t understand how to get around to the back of the building. TRAFFIC CONTROL: We will assign a few people (depending on volume of volunteers) to ensure that traffic is flowing well and people are finding where to enter the line. Milk and Meat will be picked by the vehicle loaders from their refrigerated spaces. STOCKERS: Inside of the suppers room, we have one to two people moving product outside and keeping the patio well stocked for the vehicle loading crew. We typically have several people here and each person focuses on getting their food item loaded to the car. Since this will be a special meal giveaway, there will likely be a meat involved as well. We usually have meal boxes, produce boxes or bags, and milk. I will have a sign visual for the conversion of how many of each item goes with the portion size. There will be a sticky note on the cars indicating a household portion and where to place the food. VEHICLE LOADERS: At the top of the line, we have people loading food into the vehicles. It works best if we work the top of the line quickly, and then, begin to float further back in the line - this way we can spend more time while in line if needed. There will be some people who will not want prayer, and we will just bless them and thank them for coming.
Ministry should be quick and to the point, but if additional time is needed with the person, we ask that they pull their car around to the side parking area after they have received their food. This role is crucial to the community, and we also ask that they assist with traffic flow to not hinder the line progress.
#STORE HOUSE DALLAS MOM REGISTRATION#
VEHICLE MINISTRY: Following registration ( or in whatever order it can occur,) we have people going to the cars to thank them for coming, remind them to follow us on Facebook if they aren’t already give them information about the church, and ask if we can pray for them. REGISTRATION: We have one volunteer which is normally Xaundell or myself running the registration and marking the cars for household portions and food placement. The way that the line works requires multiple roles to keep everything organized and flowing well: We ask that volunteers linger for cleanup if they are available which usually wraps up by 12:30. We start our distribution at 9am and will go through 12ish. We ask that volunteers arrive by 8:30 for a quick meeting, role assignments, and breakfast. People enter the line through the back side of the building off of Gamma and exit through the back side off of Neutron. We run our outreach in a drive-through fashion. We will be doing a Christmas Dinner giveaway on this day, so the line is likely to be long and busy. We look forward to having the Men’s group sponsor the day. Thanks for agreeing to collaborate with the Suppers Outreach on 12/19.
